Welcome to the 2009 National Order of the Arrow Conference!! NOAC 2009: The question is "WILL YOU BE THERE?" NOAC 2009Theme: "The Power of One" Date: August 1st through 6th Location: Indiana University Campus & Dorms Web Site: www.event.oa-bsa.org WHAT IS NOAC? National Order of the Arrow Conference, more commonly known as NOAC, excites Arrowmen across the country. Why you ask? Just ask anyone in our lodge who has been to one, and they will probably say it is among the greatest scouting experiences they have ever had. Imagine for a moment, you and eight thousand of your closest friends, descending on a major college campus for 6 days of brotherhood and fellowship, training and recreation, competition and friendship making. That is what a NOAC is all about. You will experience training, sports competitions, arena shows, gatherings, ceremony competitions, dance competitions, college dorming with your best friend, great food, the Founders Day Fair and Parade, patch trading, tons of lodge spirit, among many other great and amazing things. The Program for 2009 is as follows:
-Outdoor Adventure (bouldering, high adventure, pioneering, orienteering, camping, etc.)
-American Indian Affairs (dance team, powwows,etc.)
-Spectacular Shows (opening/closing shows, theme shows) -Activities and Recreation (scuba diving, 5K walk/run, dunking booth, etc. ) -Special Events (fireworks, ice cream socials, VIA luncheons, OA museum, Lodge Adviser Coffee talk, VIPs such as CEOs of major companies etc.) -Experience (over a hundred vendors of popular outdoor gear, scouting stuff, etc.) -Founders' Day (a day in celebration of our founders, which includes a parade, a day full of awesome events, a theme show, and ending with an ice cream social/fireworks)
-Training (training cells will offer arrowmen unique oppurtunities to learn about the OA, leadership, native americans, etc. from some of the top experts in the field)
NOAC is held every two years at a major university, this is the premier Order of the Arrow event, and is among the largest event held by the Boy Scouts of America, second only to the National Jamboree. Over 7,000 Arrowmen gather for this awesome week-long event. Spectacular shows, activities, training cells and food is hosted at this event.
